This is Lance B Wilkins
Lance B Wilkins is a long-time amateur student of American history. He also loves writing. A few years ago, he was asked, and agreed, to work with a congregation of young adults. It was a match made in heaven. The combination of Lance's interest American history, writing, and subsequent love of young people created a spark. The resulting fire led to publishing Jacob's Destiny. A follow-up novel, Caught in The Crossfire: A Tale of Love and War in The American Revolution will be available summer of 2023.

A novel of love, choices, and regret is in the making. This time the setting will be the American Civil War and the era of the Underground Railroad that so famously freed slaves and spirited them north to safety.

A young lieutenant must defy both armies to rescue his love from the clutches of war
Young Jacob Greyson, leads a small band of New England militia. Destiny, the woods girl or the girl marksman, is a misfit to most, but the love of Jacob’s life.

Assigned a perilous spy mission, Jacob vows to go alone. Spies can be hung, a fate he can never risk for Destiny. Nonetheless, Destiny insists. They enter Boston at night and are caught. While separated, Jacob manages escape, Destiny does not.

Over months Jacob devises plans to free Destiny. A daring foray across Boston Harbor results in death for of one of his soldiers and leaves his reputation in disgrace. In a daring night battle, he captures his childhood friend, who loyally remains in the English Army. He tries negotiating with British generals. Offers trades for Destiny’s release.

Now the cannons on Dorchester Heights are driving the British from Boston. Jacob has one last chance to risk everything to bring home the woman he loves.
